When you look at these hand gesture it may remind you of sign language- and indeed it is! It is the sign language that speaks to your mind and body, instructing them to cooperate so as to create inner harmony.
This may seem strange to some of you, but the idea is actually quite simple- imagine that the nervous system is the ‘telecommunications network’ of our body, delivering conscious and unconscious messages with the purpose of carrying out both routine and spontaneous tasks. Our hands and feet are the endpoints of these nervous networks, concentrated with hundreds of thousand nerves in a limited space, and are thus supercharged with energy.
Many times, due to various physical and mental reasons our body’s energy is out of balance. In some of my previous Tuesday articles I talked about different techniques that help us return and maintain that balance. Likewise I talked about why balance is important.
Mudra hand gestures, are yet another simple technique that can help you return your balance. Although Mudras are extensively used in combination with meditation, you don’t need to meditate to enjoy the benefits they provide- simply make the hand gesture anywhere you where you feel comfortable and keep it for as long as you like! Suddenly the energy will start to flow differently and as a result make you feel differently!
There are hundreds of mudras but I have selected 9 basic and effective ones to get you started! Practice them at home and let me know how you feel afterwards 🙂
